Microsatellite characterization of Chital deer (Axis axis) by using faecal DNA
Aim: To study the genome profile of Chital deer (A.axis) by microsatellite markers using faecal DNA & to assess its usefulness as non invasive method of genotyping. Materials and Methods: DNA was isolated from 44 animals from faeces and blood, out of which 26 (3 from blood and 23 from faeces) were subjected for genotyping. The PCR products of all the ten microsatellite loci were subjected to 6 ...
متن کاملHEMATOLOGICAL STUDIES IN INDIAN DEER – Axis axis
The blood cell profile of captive sedated chital deer revealed a sickle shaped Red Blood Cell (RBC) with the total count of 5.07 ± 0.73 x 10 per cu. mm, the Hemoglobin (Hb) concentration of 10.92 ± 1.56 gm/dl, Packed Cell Volume (PCV) of 34.00 ± 5.19, Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) of 65.4 ± 1.46, Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH) of 21.65 ± 0.21 and a total White Blood Corpuscles (WBC) was 9.1 ...
متن کاملTick-borne diseases in syntopic populations of fallow deer (Dama dama) and axis deer (Axis axis) in northern Mexico.
We harvested 21 fallow deer (Dama dama) and 17 axis deer (Axis axis) in northern Mexico. Two fallow deer were positive for Babesia bigemina and one for Babesia bovis. Amplicons had the expected 170 and 291 base pairs and were identical to B. bigemina (S45366) and B. bovis (M38218), respectively.
متن کاملThe Pituitary-Thyroid Axis in Acromegaly
The pituitary-Thyroid axis of 12 Acromegalic patients was evaluated by measurement of the concentration (Total and free of thyroxine T4, T3 and revers T3 (rT3) and TSH, GH and prolactin before and after in stimulation with TRH. Using an ultrasensitive method of TSH measurement (IRMA) basal serum TSH levels of patients (0.76, 0.07-l.90mlU/L) were found slightly but significantly (P < 0.01), low...
متن کاملThree finger palpation technique of vas deferens for keyhole vasectomy in spotted (Axis axis) and sambar deer (Cervus unicolor)
Aim: Vasectomy is performed in deer for population control, maintain pedigreed animals and prevent inbreeding. Conventional procedure of vasectomy required a long-term anesthesia and longer duration of hospitalization, which often result in stress, morbidity and mortality. A study was conducted to capture, neuter and release the deer with minimal hospitalization and stress by adopting three fin...
